North American Elevator, a leading independent elevator company, is actively seeking a highly experienced Elevator Adjuster to join our field operations team. We specialize in new installations, modernizations, and code compliance work across New York City and New Jersey.
Position Overview:
Elevator Adjuster
Responsibilities:
Perform adjustment, setup, and final tuning of elevator systems for both traction and hydraulic units
Work extensively on KONE, Schindler, MCE, and all non-proprietary controllers
Conduct advanced troubleshooting and testing during installation and modernization projects
Read and interpret electrical schematics, job drawings, and software parameters
Collaborate with project managers and field crews to ensure timely turnover of elevator projects
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years experience as an Elevator Adjuster or in a similar technical role
In-depth knowledge of non-proprietary control systems and hands-on experience with KONE, Schindler, and MCE equipment
Strong troubleshooting skills with controllers, motors, VFDs, and signal systems
OSHA 10/30 and valid driverβs license required
CET or QEI certification a plus

Position: Shop Worker / Warehouse Associate
Responsibilities:
Clean, organize, and maintain warehouse and shop areas
Safely operate a forklift (must be licensed)
Load and unload equipment and materials
Make occasional deliveries into NYC using a company vehicle
Assist elevator mechanics with job site prep
Lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Requirements:
Valid forklift license
Clean driverβs license and experience driving in NYC
Must pass a health exam
No criminal background β background check required
Must be able to lift 50 lbs regularly
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Must provide 3 references (work-related preferred)

Position: PROJECT ENGINEERS
Responsibilities:
Design, build, and analyze test results for mechanical systems and sub-assemblies. Inspect, collect, and analyze data on structural integrity. Create visual displays and charts for reports. Track and develop detailed AutoCAD layouts for pipelines and connecting equipment. Develop and validate test plans to meet acceptance criteria. Analyze test results and use processes like FMEA to identify root causes in design builds. Masterβs degree in Science, Technology, or Engineering (any) is required. Work location: Linden, NJ.
